Hat Trick!

Finally hats are back! Remember the 1950’s? It was then that women wore interesting hats and what to wear on your head was a daily brain-buster – the humble hat was an inescapable accessory.

Now that designers are in love with hats again, thank goodness, Mary Jane Baxter, a successful milliner, author and television presenter guides us step-by-step through doing away with the need for expensive equipment and instead shows us the exciting experience of making hats at home.

The Modern Girl's Guide to Hatmaking

You’ll soon be turning heads with your newfound skills. There’s heaps of advice along the way. Mary Jane suggests if you are a bit ‘hat-shy’ to try as many different shapes and styles as possible to get your eye in.

This reminds of the time I went shopping for bathers! You will start to know what really suits you, only then will you find the right one.

The Modern Girl's Guide to Hatmaking might be the start of something beautiful. Weddings, parties, races, anything … It’s time to stick a feather in your cap and wear your own creations with pride.
